Southport wraps around the Broadwater, and that water is tidal and open. The salt in the air settles on roofing, render and glass and holds moisture against those surfaces, which is exactly what mould, lichen and algae need. Properties closer to the water go off noticeably faster than those back toward the highway.
Southport has original post-war homes, brick-and-tile from the seventies and eighties, newer townhouses, and a lot of unit blocks and high-rise. We work across all of it — which is why our Southport jobs range from a single driveway to full body corporate common areas.
A lot of the established housing here has tile roofs that have been up for decades collecting salt and organic growth. Those are the roofs where soft washing makes the biggest visual difference, and where high pressure would do the most damage.
