Ashmore is central, established and close to us, which makes it one of our most regular suburbs. The housing is largely brick-and-tile on decent-sized blocks with mature gardens, and being set back from the coast changes what we're dealing with — less salt, more organic growth from shade and humidity.
Ashmore has a lot of tile roofing that's been up for decades. Those roofs hold staining and lichen, and they're exactly the surfaces where a soft wash makes the most dramatic difference — and where high pressure would do the most damage.
Far enough inland that salt stops being the main issue. Humidity and shade take over as the drivers, which generally means a slightly longer cycle than a beachside suburb.
Bigger blocks mean more concrete — driveways, paths around the house, patios and shed slabs. It usually makes sense to do the lot in one visit.
